Journals and ePortfolios with OU Blog
February 6 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

This workshop introduces the OU Blog Activity in Moodle through the lens of three example use-cases: Blogs, Journals, and ePortfolios. By the end of this workshop you will be able to create any of these three activities and make choices about how best to use OU Blog settings to support student learning in your course.
OU Blog has several unique capacities that separate it from Moodle’s standard Forum and Wiki tools, including:
- Privacy and interaction settings that can allow comments during certain periods for structured assessment or fully restrict the activity to individual users for journaling purposes
- Ability for students to edit existing content and submissions with change-tracking capacities for continuous development of an assessment
- Flexible tagging functionality for topic categorization, student collaboration, and drawing class-wide connections
