Kelly Fyke, M.Ed

Discipline/Teaching Area: Centre for Innovation in Teaching & Learning

I am a Teaching & Learning Specialist in the Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at College of the Rockies. In this role, I support faculty and staff in designing and delivering engaging and effective learning experiences for our diverse students. I also serve on the College’s Program Quality Assurance and Accessibility Advisory Committees, as well as the Healthy Classrooms Action Team.

Before joining the College in 2022, I spent more than 16 years teaching English Language and Literature, both internationally and in B.C. I completed an M.Ed in Teaching and Learning through UBC with a focus on comics and multimodal literacy. I live in Kimberley with my husband, two daughters, and golden retriever. We love exploring the beautiful Kootenay region and enjoying the outdoor activities it offers, such as hiking, biking, camping, and skiing.

My current research interests include online and hyflex learning, instructional design, accessibility and universal design for learning, and faculty development. I am passionate about creating inclusive and accessible learning environments that foster student engagement, collaboration, and success.

I approach my work with a learner-centered and inquiry-based perspective, guided by the belief that learning is a lifelong and transformative process.
