Introduction to Practicum

This course introduces students to the foundational skills, knowledge, and professional practices required for practicum in early childhood education. Students will learn how to observe and document children’s behaviours, interests, and learning in ethical and respectful ways, using a range of observation methods and tools. Through reflective practice, students will begin to identify personal strengths and goals for growth as early childhood educators. This course provides the foundation for applying theory to practice in future practicum courses.

Requisites:

  • Complete all of the following
    • Earned a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in at least 1 of the following:
    • Completed or concurrently enrolled in:
      • ECED105 - Developing Positive Relationships With Young Children (3)
