Infant and Toddler Practicum

This practicum course provides students with hands-on experience in applying the skills and knowledge gained throughout the Early Childhood Education Diploma program. Emphasis is placed on working with infants and toddlers in supportive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments. Students will integrate theory into practice by adapting and implementing activities for children from birth to age three while fostering strong, responsive relationships with children, families, and community partners.

Requisites:

  • Complete all of the following
    • Earned a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in at least 1 of the following:
    • Child, Youth and Family Studies Program: Early Childhood Education Certificate or a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college.
    • Completed the following:
      • ECED201 - Advanced Child Growth & Development (4)
      • ECED213 - Advanced Health, Safety and Nutrition (3)
      • ECED218 - Planning Programs for Infants & Toddlers (4)
