eLearning Opportunities for Addressing Intercultural Barriers: Part- 3
June 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Providing Clear Instructions and Streamlining Assessment: – Foster a sense of Safety and Power.
Clearly designed assessments and activities can work to support Power and Safety through student confidence and empowerment and collaboration and reflection.
Performance issues arise in cross-cultural groups primarily because of language barriers and a lack of familiarity with cultural norms. Therefore, it’s important to design activities in a collaborative manner. This workshop will explore the use of Moodle tools such as the Workshop Activity, Peer Feedback and Assessment, and Rubrics to support streamlined, predictable, and clear assessments and class activities.
Embedding reflection activities and tracking course progress can also encourage student achievement and engagement.
