College of the Rockies President and CEO, David Walls, is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurie Calverley as the new Executive Director, Human Resources and Payroll.

Calverley’s human resources career has included a variety of senior human resources positions in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, she held positions in the K-12 systems in Victoria and Kamloops.

Her experience is complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Policy for Development. She holds a diploma in human resources management, certificates in interest-based negotiation and interest-based mediation as well as a Qualified Mediator designation. Her interest in mediated settlement has led her to be a roster mediator, assisting with civil mediation services for Alberta Justice.

“It is an exciting time to be part of College of the Rockies,” Calverley said. “I’m looking forward to meeting everyone at this wonderful educational institution and to working with the incredible HR and Payroll team as we continue to support College successes.”

“We are pleased to have Laurie joining our executive team,” Walls said. “I have no doubt her experience and background will be of great benefit to the College. We look forward to her contributions to our community.”

Calverley began her new role on June 3.
