College of the Rockies is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Garety as manager of the Creston campus.
Garety, who will begin her duties in Creston on May 16, brings over 10 years of faculty experience and two years as Department Chair at North Island College to the position. In addition to her post-secondary experience, Garety has an extensive background as an entrepreneur, having owned and managed several successful small businesses.
Director of Continuing Education, Contract Training and Campus Operations Leah Bradish says, “We are excited to have Kim joining us. As someone who is passionate about adult education and the community of Creston, Kim’s enthusiasm and knowledge will help her build upon the great work that has been taking place at the Creston campus and bring new and exciting opportunities onboard.”
Long-time BC residents, Garety and her husband moved to Creston in April 2015 after purchasing land in 2014. They have been developing their property and are in the process of building a house.
“After considerable research and many travels I feel so fortunate to have chosen to live in the Creston Valley with its strong agricultural base, vibrant communities, and spectacular natural environment,” says Garety. “It truly felt like home from the moment we arrived.”
Garety, whose background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Education and 10 years of management experience, looks forward to the opportunities for growth that lay ahead for the Creston campus.
“I am thrilled to be working with College of the Rockies in providing educational opportunities for the local communities and businesses of the Creston Valley. It is such an integral resource in the community for organizations and students of all ages looking to further their education and interests.”
