COTR Hospitality Management students lend a hand for Remembrance Day

Posted on

College of the Rockies Invermere campus’ Hospitality Management students volunteered to help the Legion recognize Remembrance Day. They started with selling poppies at various locations in the week leading up to November 11, before helping with the set-up, tear down, and serving at the post-ceremony luncheon. Students, faculty members, administrative assistants, and campus manager Michelle Taylor were honoured to take part in the processional before laying a wreath to represent the College. The most memorable part of the day, however, was when program faculty members Anna-Marie Rautenbach and Karin Ogalvie, along with students, had the privilege of having their photo taken with WWII veteran, Jim Ashworth, who is almost 104 years old!
