Offerings include everything from First Aid to a new Game Design Academy
With September signaling the start of a new school year, College of the Rockies’ Continuing Education department is looking forward to offering an exciting lineup of diverse courses.
“We’re committed to ensuring that people in our College region have access to the education and training they want and need,” said Leah Bradish, Director, Continuing Education and Contract Training. “Whether you’re looking to upgrade employment skills, pick up a new hobby, or just learn something new, now is a great time to take that step.”
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Continuing Education training will look different for the fall 2020 semester.
“Most of our courses will be delivered online or through alternative methods like web conferencing,” Bradish said. “The exception is some of our first aid courses, which require in-person training. For these courses, we are taking care to ensure we are following all health and safety guidelines outlined by the Provincial Health Officer, the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training, and WorkSafeBC.”
Each campus will offer first aid courses locally, but other Continuing Education courses are now more accessible than ever.
“We’re excited about the opportunities that moving to online or alternative delivery brings to our campus communities,” Bradish said. “Individuals in our region will now be able to access a much wider range of courses from the comfort of their own home.”
A condensed Continuing Education brochure will be going out in the mail the week of September 14 with a full listing of courses available in all College communities. Registration can be done fully online or by contacting the local College of the Rockies campus.
Course details, including more comprehensive information about first aid and safety training, business and professional development, and lifestyle and leisure courses can also be found on the College’s Continuing Education website.
