Electric Vehicle Maintenance Technology

This program is for certified Red Seal Automotive Service Technicians or registered AST Level 3 and Level 4 apprentices aiming to enhance their skills for the rising presence of electric vehicles on roads.

It will prepare you to:

• Safely diagnose and service high voltage electric vehicles
• Demonstrate the use of category 3 meters, insulated hand tools and equipment used with electric vehicles
• Describe high voltage electric motors
• Demonstrate high voltage safety plug removal on various models
• Test and replace high voltage batteries, battery modules, individual battery cells and voltage relays

Online Module*

6 hours of online self-paced module that must be completed in advance of the Face-to-Face Training.

*Upon registering for the program, students will be given access to the online module which must be completed by November 12.

Students must be a Red Seal Automotive Service Technician or have completed Level 3 Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Program.

• CSA-approved Steel-toed boots footwear CAN/CSA-Z195-02 (Green Triangle)
• CSA-approved safety glasses CAN/CSA-Z94.3-92
