University General Studies
Are you interested in post secondary academic/university courses but are not sure where your passion lies? Register as a University General Studies (UGS) student to explore your academic interests. Whether you are fresh out of high school, looking for a career change, require a few courses to get into a future program, or wish to explore university level courses that pique your interest, University General Studies is where you can begin.
The UGS option provides students with access to courses from across the academic Arts and Sciences. You can take courses from Astronomy to Sociology. This flexibility is helpful for students who want to customize their educational pathways.
UGS does not lead to a credential. Students who know their program goal should register in that program. Courses taken as a UGS student can later be used for credit within a College of the Rockies program or can be transferred to other institutions. Academic Advisors are here to assist you with developing your own education plan and course selections.
You can begin your studies as a University General Studies student in the Fall, Winter or Spring semesters.
Refer to our A-Z Course listings and check course availability in AccessCOTR to make your selections from the following disciplines:
|Accounting||Business Management||Financial Services|

There are no program admission requirements; however, students are required to meet all of the individual course pre-requisites for their course selections.
You may begin your courses during fall, winter or spring semesters until you have reached your educational goals.
Costs are based on your course selections. Some courses have additional fees for equipment or lab supplies.
Many of our courses transfer to other post-secondary institutions. To transfer on a course by course basis, refer to Transfer Credit Information, the BC transfer guide, or Alberta transfer guide.
