Start your post-secondary journey early with College of the Rockies.High school students can now take college courses that count toward both their high school diploma and a post-secondary credential. Through this partnership, you’ll earn valuable credits, explore new opportunities, and enjoy the benefit of tuition-free learning!
At College of the Rockies, academic dual credit courses are available through the University Arts and Sciences, Business Management, Criminal and Social Justice, Recreation Management, and Kinesiology programs.
You are eligible to take part in the academic dual credit program if:
- You are entering grade 11 or 12.
- You are 19 years of age or under.
- The College of the Rockies course is part of the University Arts and Sciences, Business Management, Criminal and Social Justice, Recreation Management, or Kinesiology programs.
- You have completed the Dual Credit Application Package.
We encourage you to apply early! Ask your secondary school counsellor about application dates.
Step 1
- Create an EducationPlannerBC account or login if you have an existing account by visiting their website.
- Complete your profile.
- Apply to College of the Rockies as a “Dual Credit Applicant”.
- Visit the Subject Area drop-down menu, then select your program and start term from the drop-down menus.

Academic Dual Credit FAQs
Q: Are College of the Rockies semesters the same as my high school’s?
A: The fall semester start and end dates are similar. For College of the Rockies, the winter semester starts in January and ends in April. There is a February reading break. The College does not take a March break. Dual Credit students would be required to adhere to the schedule requirements of their chosen course.
Q: The College of the Rockies course I am interested in has prerequisites. Does this impact me?
A: Yes, you must meet the course prerequisites. The College requires your official transcript to verify that you meet the course requisites.
Q: Where will I take my dual credit course?
A: College of the Rockies courses are offered at one of the College campuses or online. In some circumstances, courses may be delivered at a high school by a College instructor.
Q: Does it cost to take Dual Credit courses at College of the Rockies?
A: With a complete and signed Dual Credit Application package, your tuition and fees will be paid by the school district. You will be responsible for the purchase of textbooks and any other required learning tools. Our Financial Aid and Awards Advisor may be able to help you access bursaries to help with textbook costs.
